The acting career of Reese Witherspoon began to take off after she attended Stanford University. Her early successes in her acting career were in films like Pleasantville and Election however, her performance in the film Elle Woods was the turning point for her. Witherspoon won an Academy Award for her performance in Walk the Line in 2005. The most recent movies also include Water for Elephants This Means War and Wild in which she was awarded yet another Oscar nomination. Witherspoon is also a hit on the television screen, having has been a producer and co-star for David E. Kelley's Award-winning TV series Big Little Lies. Witherspoon, is born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon in New Orleans Louisiana on March 22 in 1976. Witherspoon's parents are a medical doctor as well as registered nurses. The actress grew up in Nashville, TN as the first student at her school as well as Harpeth Hall. On a bit of randomness in 1991 Witherspoon answered a call to be an extra in her local newspaper.
